Pernah denger istilah SidePort Memory?? pernah sesekali? belum pernah sama sekali? baru dengar pertama kali??
Nah mari kita bicarkan tentang sideport memory. Sideport memory adalah memory tambahan (khusus untuk grafis) yang tertanam di motherboard yang memiliki kartu grafis onboard. Jadi kalau dulu kita mengenal motherboard yang support onboard vga membutuhkan memory virtual yang di ambil dari RAM, sehingga RAM kita berkurang(di ambil untuk alokasi onboard VGA). Misal VGA onboard kita 128MB maka ram kita yang harusnya 512MB berkurang jadi 512-128 = 384 MB saja(bagi yang belon tau sekarang ketemu kan kemana ilangnya itu RAM hehehehe...). Sekarang dengan adanya sideport memory RAM kita nggak bakalan 'kemakan' lagi oleh onboard VGA, karena motherboard itu sendiri telah mempunya memory khusus untuk VGA dengan jenis GDDR(lebih cepat dari DDR). Sehingga RAM kita tetap dalam ukuran yang sebenarnya.
Kenapa ada sideport memory??
Mungkin pertanyaan ini timbul ketika kita bisa membeli memory gedhe, 2GB misal. Toh memory kita masih gedhe juga 'kemakan' VGA onboard 512MBpun gak masalah masi ada 1,5GB di RAM kita, lantas kenapa harus ada sideport memory? Nah pertanyaan ini cukup simple sebenarnya jawabannya. VGA seperti kita tau fungsi utamanya untuk mengolah data gafis yang notabenya cukup "BERAT", sangat membutuhkan performa yang tinggi. RAM pada umumnya (walaupun itu DDR3 sekalipun) TIDAK DIDESAIN untuk performa grafis(dalam hal kecepatan). Jadi kalaupun onboard VGAnya bagus misal ATI HD 4200 namun memory utamanya tetep pake RAM maka speednya nggak bakalan dapet yang optimal. Oleh karena itu perlunya sideport memory, karena jenis memory yang tertanam adalah GDDR (Graphics Double Data Rate memory refers to memory specifically designed for use on graphics cards-wikipedia) yang merupakan memory khusus untuk kartu grafis. Sehingga performanya nggak 'memble'.

code 43 error
• Some video performance playback may be noticed when using the latest version
of Pixela
• Video combing effects may be noticed during movie playback while fast forwarding
or rewinding

enabling 1080p HDMI support and adjusting the scaling options
• Video may not fill secondary display when playing back HD 1080i content

in a system stopped working error
• Unable to extend the display to a secondary adapter until the system has been

Resolved Issues for the Windows XP Operating System
This section provides information on resolved issues in this release of the ATI
Catalyst™ Software Suite for Windows XP. These include:
• Catalyst Control Center Runtime does not restart automatically after HydraVision
installation in Windows XP
• Catalyst Control Center: Hydravision tab is not shown in limited user
accounts for Windows XP 64 bit
• Test corruption may be noticed when display is rotated to 'Left (90 ccw)' in
resolutions greater than 1600 x 1200
• Playing back some HD MPEG2 videos will either shows black or show a
reduced Overlay Theater mode on the secondary display
• TV may fail to display an image after installing the display driver with an
HD-TV connected using DVI-HDMI adapter
• Video corruption may be noticed with some DVI monitors during a mode
switch
• On some systems the following ATI warning dialog may be displayed after a
system restore “Not enough displays to enable driver. Add another display
device and try again.
